Baste it

Basting your quilt sandwich on a longarm is a very efficient and effective method of preparing your quilt for hand quilting.  It avoids having to get on the floor or stretch over a table and use tacky sprays, or a thousand safety pins to get your quilt basted.  This is awkward and very frustrating, trying to keep a large span of layers together perfectly.  We have all been there and dread this part of the process.

Having your quilt machine basted is accurate and consistent.  The basting is generally spaced in grids at a 4-6" scale and stitched with a stitch length of 2 stitches per inch.  The stitch is secure enough to hold the layers together while you hand quilt, yet large enough to simply pull out once you have finished. Once you have a quilt basted with a longarm, you will never go back!

Cost:

Loading fee $20 (your quilt will not be trimmed once basted)

Basting fee - .02cents per sq"
